Striving for Change: Social Movements & Campus Politics

From the Drill Rebellion of 1874 (against Joshua Chamberlain) to recent petitions for fossil fuel divestment and racial justice, Bowdoin has a rich history of student advocacy for change.  This panel will delve into this history, examine how the culture of activism has changed over time and question the means and ends of current campus movements.
