Anxiety

Anxiety:

On my path to better understanding what mental health means and why it is important there have been two words that have continuously come in my research which are anxiety and depression. Anxiety is a common feeling that many people feel throughout their lifetime which includes the feelings of fear, dread, and uneasiness (https://medlineplus.gov/anxiety.html). However, this feeling for many, is a feeling that does go away and could start interfering with their daily life which then could be diganous as a disorder or medical illness. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, over 40 million people in the U.S suffer from this medical illness (https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/anxiety-disorders).

If you think you are suffering with anxiety at any levels, just know you are not alone and there are actions you can take for yourself to help you be the best you. I know that sounds cheesy “being the best you” but when I think about how I can be the best me, I think about what I can do to feel like me because whenever I feel like myself, I feel like I am my best me.  Just know life is a long journey not a race, so enjoy the path while you are on it.
