Depression:
Depression is a real mental illness. According to the World Health Organization approximately 280 million people in the world have depression. The U.S, the National Institute of Mental Health estimated in 2020, 21 million adults will have at least one major depressive episode. These statistics have also shown that depression varies amongst diverse groups of people whether that be because of location, gender, sex, nationality, or race. According to Mental Health America 19% of people who identify as Native American or Alaskan Native have reported having a mental illness in the past year.
