- Start July 16, 2022. Anyone in New Mexico can call 988 when in a crisis. This number in New Mexico has been created to help people when they are in any type of crisis and do not know where to turn. Crisis can including but are not limited to mental health crisis, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts, feeling of hopelessness, in need of referrals for local services, or just need to talk to someone outside or your circle.
- This crisis helpline is there to help deescalate situation, figure out the right level of care that is needed, and lead other to resource additional resources.
