<\/b>Fishel, Adler, and Schwartz took up various locations on 5th Avenue between the mid 19th century and early 20th century. The gallery focused on a mix of European and American art.3<\/a><\/sup> \u201cArt Notes,\u201d New York Times, February 1, 1901. And \u201cThe Week in Art,\u201d New York Times, November 25, 1899. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0In terms of mediums, the gallery sold an assortment of paintings, lithographs, and prints. Artists shown in the space include <\/span>Jean-Jacques Henner<\/span><\/a>, S. Montgomery Roosevelt,\u00a0 Hamilton Hamilton,4<\/a><\/sup>\u201cThe Grape Vine Swing,\u201d Library of Congress, January 1, 1890. https:\/\/www.loc.gov\/pictures\/item\/2015646338\/. and \u201cJean-Jacques Henner,\u201d National Gallery of Art, Accessed April 14, 2020. https:\/\/www.nga.gov\/collection\/artist-info.1390.html.<\/span><\/span> and a full exhibition for female artist Florence V. Robinson in 1897.5<\/a><\/sup> \u201cArt and Artists.\u201d <\/span><\/span>\u00a0Though short lived in comparison to others, Fishel, Adler, and Schwartz<\/span> was sizable in its own time: In 1902, the gallery appeared to undergo an expansion, purchasing two new properties on Fifth Avenue less than a month apart.6<\/a><\/sup> \u201cIn the Real Estate Field: Dealings by Brokers–Sixth Avenue Building Sold and Leased–Day\u2019s Results at Auction.\u201d <\/span><\/span> 326 Fifth Avenue seemed to be a temporary location, moving into 313 Fifth Avenue a month later after renovations.7<\/a><\/sup>\u201cIn The Real Estate Field: No. 557 Fifth Avenue Sold by W. G. Park–Other Dealings by Brokers and in the Auction Room,\u201d New York Times, October 31, 1902. <\/span><\/span> Most of their purchases were mid-tier in terms of cost,8<\/a><\/sup> \u201cThe Autumn Outlook: New York-Art,\u201d New York Times, October 8, 1898. <\/span> <\/span>and they frequently participated\u00a0 in auctions with other galleries.9<\/a><\/sup> \u201cPaintings Realize $76,475: High Prices Maintained at the Second Day of Boussod, Valadon & Co.\u2019s Sale,\u201d New York Times, February 28,1902. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0Information about the gallery seemingly halted before 1910, indicating the gallery likely closed prior to.<\/span><\/p>\n
