{"id":1057,"date":"2024-05-01T13:31:19","date_gmt":"2024-05-01T17:31:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/baldwin-clt-teaching-times\/?p=1057"},"modified":"2024-05-01T13:56:14","modified_gmt":"2024-05-01T17:56:14","slug":"summer-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/baldwin-clt-teaching-times\/announcements\/summer-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer workshop: Character Across the Curriculum:\u00a0Equipping Faculty to Design Courses for Educating Character\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><br><strong>July 8-10, 2024<\/strong><br><strong>Wake Forest University<\/strong><br><strong>Winston-Salem, North Carolina<\/strong><br>The Character Across the Curriculum workshop aims to equip faculty to:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>identify clear and measurable character-related learning outcomes,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>design engaging learning activities and assignments that promote students\u2019 growth toward those outcomes,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop effective and ethically sound assessments of learning activities\u2019 efficacy in promoting such growth, and&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>integrate these outcomes, activities, and assessments into existing or new syllabuses in ways that are appropriate for, and in service of, the disciplinary goals of the course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop will be led collaboratively by members of the Program for Leadership and Character with expertise in character theory and development, course design, and character assessment and measurement among undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.&nbsp;Session participants will include twenty members of the Wake Forest faculty, as well as 12 invited faculty from the ECI Community. ECI participants will have all expenses paid for travel to and participation in the event.<br><br>Detailed information is available in our <a href=\"https:\/\/wakeforestuniversity.my.salesforce.com\/sfc\/p\/#Hr000001t6YA\/a\/Hr00000055MZ\/Sk5Wj2Z2ecHSojPFPBpGenlgvcwEkA1yr.rR5oWby5E\">call for ECI participants<\/a> and on our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/leadershipandcharacter.wfu.edu\/eci\/events\/character-across-the-curriculum-equipping-faculty-to-design-course-for-educating-character\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">workshop website<\/a>.
