Sign up in Campus Groups with the links below.&nbsp; Brought to you by the Office of Inclusion and Diversity and the McKeen Center for the Common Good.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Facilitating Constructive Dialogue: Building Bridges in the Classroom and Beyond<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Facilitated by Nick Longo, Chair and Professor of Global Studies and Co-Director of the Dialogue, Inclusion and Democracy (DID) Lab at Providence College<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">October 31<sup>st<\/sup>, 1130-1pm in Lancaster Lounge, Moulton Union&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cglink.me\/2dK\/r1957804\">REGISTER HERE<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This interactive workshop over lunch&nbsp;invites faculty and staff&nbsp;to explore \u201cwhat works\u201d to engage students in dialogue across lines of difference. Participants will consider their roles as educators in a time of pernicious polarization, as well as strategies for addressing moments of tension in spaces you facilitate, such as classrooms and&nbsp;with teams and student programming. In the session, we will reflect on how to design democratic learning spaces that cultivate inclusive, critical, and civil discourse\u2014no matter the discipline or learning setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bringing in Conversations and <\/strong><strong>Disagreements, and Undoing Hate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Facilitated by Katy Stern, Director of Institutional Inclusion and Diversity Programs<\/em>&nbsp;<em>with Professor Dan Stone<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">November 11th, 11:30-1pm in Daggett, Thorne&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cglink.me\/2dK\/r1956314\">REGISTER HERE<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This interactive workshop over lunch invites faculty and staff to explore how we can bring students into productive conversations that hold space for disagreeing.&nbsp;&nbsp;In a time that we are increasingly polarized and siloed, let\u2019s explore together how we can help students bring curiosity and respect into exploring disagreements.&nbsp;&nbsp;Professor Dan Stone will join to share thoughts from his book&nbsp;Undue Hate&nbsp;on how disagreements often lead to undue hate, and how we can avoid this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dig into dialogue at these Lunch and Learns while we explore together how to build stronger conversations at Bowdoin.
