We worked at Camp Becket together, a sleepaway camp in western Massachusetts that he had attended and worked at for six years. In 2019, I was in my tenth summer at the camp and met David when he was added to my village, working with the eleven year old age group. David and I became close pretty quickly, talking about baseball and camp primarily, but we developed a mentor-mentee relationship by the end of the summer. He asked for a lot of advice on mediating conflicts between campers, gaining confidence, and wanted to work on his ability to loosen up and goof around more. He came a<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">long way in his counseling ability that summer, and we developed a friendship in a very short amount of time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Eight months after his death, scrolling through snapchat on Thanksgiving day, David reappeared, his location showing he was home.
