Hi everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second ever eARTh exhibition, we put out a call for art about the urgency of climate change, and the responses are powerful. We have 19 artists participating in the show who expressed themselves through visual art, poetry, and dance. It has been so special to share the exhibition with our Bowdoin community, and we hope you all enjoy this website as a record of the art that our community members have created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We believe art is an incredible outlet for individuals to process the changes occurring in our world, and a great way to raise awareness or share personal experiences within our community. It’s clear that Bowdoin students are engaging deeply with climate change and are processing their thoughts through artistic outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eARTh project is a program proposed and supported by the Earth and Oceanographic Science Department. Our intent is to create opportunities for student-led projects that will showcase the work of their peers, in response to a theme. We are encouraging  cross-disciplinary exhibitions and platforms and will invite the imagination of each leadership team to define their focus and production goals. <\/em>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Roux Center for the <\/em>Environment<\/em> is a<\/em> <\/em>w<\/em>elcoming <\/em>building<\/em> which <\/em>invites <\/em>student<\/em> <\/em>engagement<\/em> <\/em>and aesthetic <\/em>response<\/em> to its spaces<\/em> and interdisciplinary mission. <\/em>The arts propose yet another set of tools for <\/em>science communication<\/em> as well as <\/em>a unique <\/em>sphere<\/em> for <\/em>creative<\/em> and crit<\/em>ical <\/em>response<\/em>. Importantly, the arts support<\/em> <\/em>the <\/em>integration<\/em> <\/em>of <\/em>experience <\/em>amidst the<\/em> <\/em>compl<\/em>exities <\/em>in our rapidly <\/em>changing world<\/em>.<\/em> <\/em>Creative imagination may <\/em>a<\/em>t some<\/em> <\/em>junctures<\/em> <\/em>inform <\/em>creative solutions.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
