The students are mostly \u201cparents of pre-school aged children, parents with low literacy, low income, minorities, and immigrants.\u201d This school provides opportunities that may not have been there otherwise in a truly caring and family-like environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00ccff\">Progressive Waltham:<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/progressivewaltham.org\/?page_id=65\">https:\/\/progressivewaltham.org\/?page_id=65<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"margin-top: 0.857143rem;margin-bottom: 0.857143rem;margin-left: 1.71429rem\" src=\"https:\/\/progressivewaltham.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cropped-cropped-pwlogo.png\" width=\"229\" height=\"65\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This grassroots organization is a group of members ranging from teachers to students who are\u201corganizers aspiring to build power in the community through issues and electoral-based organizing.\u201d Some of their main goals include ensuring a just public education syste<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">m and working for fairness for immigrant members\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of their community. They have an Education Justice Committee that works to make sure that EVERYONE in the Waltham community has a quality education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00ccff\">WATCH CDC:<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/watchcdc.org\/adult-education\/\">https:\/\/watchcdc.org\/adult-education\/<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The priority of the Waltham Alliance for Teaching Community Organizing and Housing (WATCH CDC) is to help strengthen the voices of immigrant community members. One way in which <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/watchcdc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/WATCH_logo_color_150x115.png\" width=\"150\" height=\"115\" \/>they achieve this goal is by teaching English to the members of the community who want to learn it through classes, tutoring, and speaking groups. By helping these community members to learn English, WATCH CDC helps them to realize their voice so that they can see the potential they hold to contribute to their community. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00ccff\">Dual Language Education of New Mexico:<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dlenm.org\/\">https:\/\/www.dlenm.org\/<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"margin-top: 0.857143rem;margin-bottom: 0.857143rem;margin-left: 1.71429rem\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dlenm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DLENM-logo.png\" width=\"257\" height=\"39\" \/><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Dual Language Education of New Mexico focuses on doing what they can to make dual-<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">language learning accessible. What was started by teachers of dual language has spread into an organization that helps communities to start these programs as well as increasing \u201cthe linguistic and sociocultural capital of their communities.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00ccff\">ATDLE:<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ATDLE\/\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ATDLE\/<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent.fbed1-1.fna.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/10689791_566487510146387_8498216043316179097_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&amp;_nc_sid=09cbfe&amp;_nc_ohc=fW_ixYe1LecAX-6la-8&amp;_nc_ht=scontent.fbed1-1.fna&amp;oh=aca78c4b12d830fdb880b5374525338f&amp;oe=5EE3DF83\" width=\"139\" height=\"153\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Association of Two-Way and Dual Language Education (ATDLE) emphasizes the importance of dual-language programs while maintaining the native language of the students\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in these programs. Their overall goal after language acquisition is to keep the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">appreciation of the cultures associated with the languages as well as bringing them to the broader community. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00ccff\">Austin Language Justice Collective:<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/austin.languagejustice.org\/what-we-do\/who-we-are\/\">http:\/\/austin.languagejustice.org\/what-we-do\/who-we-are\/<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Austin Language Justice Collective strives to get rid of language barriers in order to open up communication and allow people to more fully participate in their communities.
