City Kids strives to teach students leadership, transferable job skills, and conflict resolution.13<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n

Working to alter the false perception that black people do not have a relationship with nature, Outdoor Afro strives to shift the visual representation of outdoor recreation in social media and the news.15<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n

@First Ascenders<\/a> provides students in Denver, CO with the opportunity to rock climb through a series of six-week after-school courses. Through climbing, students develop self-confidence, physical fitness, and a greater awareness of the outdoors.17<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n

Grow NYC\u00a0works with local schools to take inner city students hiking, teaches them how to plant trees and build gardens, and the importance of recycling and healthy eating.18<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n
