It has since then remained involved in education both at the local and state level, keeping individuals informed about issues that affect their local schools.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/unitednj.nationbuilder.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Jersey Communities United<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-115 \" src=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/NJCommunitiesUnitedPic.jpeg\" alt=\"NJCommunitiesUnitedPic\" width=\"103\" height=\"103\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">NJCU aims to give a voice to communities of low and moderate incomes, communities of color, and immigrant Americans. NJCU is involved in with education but also tackles problems regarding health, the economy, environment, and more.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/workingfamilies.org\/states\/new-jersey\/\">New Jersey Working Families<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-116\" src=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/NJWFAPic.jpeg\" alt=\"NJWFAPic\" width=\"108\" height=\"99\" srcset=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/NJWFAPic.jpeg 235w, https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/NJWFAPic-150x137.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 108px) 100vw, 108px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">NJWF mobilizes working families to fight for economic and social justice. NJWF aims to improve public schools but also deals with issues regarding healthcare, climate change, minimum wage and more. They openly oppose Governor Christie and have called for his resignation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclu-nj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-117\" src=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/ACLUNJPic.jpeg\" alt=\"ACLUNJPic\" width=\"105\" height=\"105\" srcset=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/ACLUNJPic.jpeg 160w, https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/ACLUNJPic-150x150.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 105px) 100vw, 105px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">ACLU of NJ is involved in litigation and advocacy on behalf of individuals. ACLU is located in Newark. It deals with many issues including education, police practices, religious freedom and more.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.j4jalliance.com\/\">The Journey for Justice Alliance<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-118\" src=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/J4JAPic.jpeg\" alt=\"J4JAPic\" width=\"94\" height=\"94\" srcset=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/J4JAPic.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/J4JAPic-150x150.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 94px) 100vw, 94px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Journey for Justice stands against school closings because it results in students being displaced and families losing access to neighborhood schools. Because school closings disproportionately\u00a0impact African American and Latino students, schools and communities, Journey for Justice demands the Department investigate the racial impact of school closings in their cities.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.njtag.org\/\">New Jersey Teacher Activist Group<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-119 \" src=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-fall-2014-sgomez\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/12\/NJTAGPic.jpeg\" alt=\"NJTAGPic\" width=\"109\" height=\"109\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">TAG believes that local communities and those affected by school reform should be looked to for the wisdom and knowledge to transform their local schools.There should be mutual responsibility and accountability among educators, families, youth, and communities.
