The Pyramid was founded by D.J and Ursula Markey, the parents of two now young adults with disabilities. The Pyramid offers parents training sessions that focus on: special education laws, disability laws and regulations, agency language. Additionally, The Pyramid helps connect families to other resources for New Orleans residents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-74\" src=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/education-2272-spring-2017-jaustrie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/166\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-05-15-at-10.59.37-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"105\" height=\"78\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/nuestravoznola\/about\/?ref=page_internal\">Nuestra Voz NOLA<\/a> is a group that helps advocate for Spanish speaking parents in New Orleans. The goal of this group is to ensure all children in New Orleans have access to good education and that the parents have the proper tools to advocate for their children. The coalition started with concerned musicians but as branched out to concerned community members as well. The goal of the MaCCNO is to preserve the New Orleans culture through music. This organization educates people on the rules of the road through in-school workshops, community outreach. Bike Easy offers 4<sup>th<\/sup> and 5<sup>th<\/sup> grade students bike and walk safety education. The group provides a space where community members can mentor youth. They aspire to foster a space for leadership, personal development, and anti-violence education. The goal of this group is to build community between non-native English speakers.
