The Pyramid was founded by D.J and Ursula Markey, the parents of two now young adults with disabilities. The Pyramid offers parents training sessions that focus on: special education laws, disability laws and regulations, agency language. Additionally, The Pyramid helps connect families to other resources for New Orleans residents.<\/p>\n

\"\"Nuestra Voz NOLA<\/a> is a group that helps advocate for Spanish speaking parents in New Orleans. The goal of this group is to ensure all children in New Orleans have access to good education and that the parents have the proper tools to advocate for their children. Through workshops with New Orleans Public School teachers, and community programs, Nuestra Voz is helping build a stronger Latino community in New Orleans.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Music and Culture Coalition of New Orleans<\/a> was established in 2012. The coalition started with concerned musicians but as branched out to concerned community members as well. The goal of the MaCCNO is to preserve the New Orleans culture through music. The coalition initiates educational programs such as monthly teach-ins, community listening sessions, and sessions related to sound ordinance policies so that musicians are informed.<\/p>\n

\"\"Bike Easy <\/a>is an organization that promotes wellness and safety for the people of New Orleans through community education. This organization educates people on the rules of the road through in-school workshops, community outreach. Bike Easy offers 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> grade students bike and walk safety education. The goal of this organization is to ensure everyone is as safe as possible on the road.<\/p>\n

\"\"New Steps Reentry for Youth<\/a> is an organization that helps youth coming out of prison with their acclimation period. The group provides a space where community members can mentor youth. They aspire to foster a space for leadership, personal development, and anti-violence education. The goal of this organization is to educate the community so that they can help prevent youth from reincarceration.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"TREE<\/a> is an organization that provides grade school children with the opportunity to learn about life science and earth science via \u201cOutdoor Classrooms\u201d in the New Orleans metropolitan region. Children are exposed to nature in a way the traditional classroom could not allow.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"The Louisiana Prison Education Coalition<\/a> promotes higher educational opportunities for incarcerated people, regardless of what level of education they have obtained. Additionally, this group works to educate the community so that the community can promote awareness and support for prison education.<\/p>\n

\"\"LLAC<\/a> of New Orleans was created after Hurricane Katrina in 2006. The goal of this group is to build community between non-native English speakers. Additionally, the group ensures that the ESL programs in New Orleans are in agreement with Title VI regulations.<\/p>\n

\"\"VIET<\/a> provides educational and economic training sessions, and specifically serves as a resource for minorities in Louisiana. Additionally, this organization helps decrease the gap between cultural and language differences.<\/p>\n

\"\"The New Orleans Community Printshop<\/a>\u00a0is comprised of printmakers, photographers, and artists who are invested in providing a space that the community can use. Experienced artists hold classes for community members, allowing community members the opportunity to use quality equipment without the financial burden.<\/p>\n
