Is public education enough? Do charters\u00a0better serve their student body? This website will focus on the grassroots approach to stifle or continue the rapid spread of charter schools. Many of these groups are comprised of parents and teacher unions. The anti charter movement is a predominately progressive movement, which naturally includes groups that advocate for civil rights. Left leaning organizations that advocate for teacher&#8217;s rights and equal access to education for all students largely oppose charter schools.\u00a0The state&#8217;s resounding\u00a0rejection of the 2016 ballot question that would have raised the limit on charter schools exemplify the effectiveness of these local grassroots movements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This website addresses the competing arguments in favor and against charter schools.
