Consisting of concerned community members in Syracuse, New York, Uplift Syracuse<\/a> has recently been holding weekly meetings to identify ways they can end the contamination of their water and mitigate the effects of lead poisoning. Uplift Syracuse organizes community members primarily through social media.<\/p>\n

Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning – Baltimore, Maryland<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"Emerging out of a grassroots movement founded in 1986 called Parents Against Lead, the Coalition is a nationally recognized direct service organization located in Baltimore. Its online resources allow families to investigate the degree to which their children might be at risk for harmful lead-exposure by accounting for location and home features. Its Green and Healthy Homes Initiative prevents childhood lead-poisoning by providing under-resourced families with means to make their homes safer for healthier children.<\/p>\n
