– NOAA’s 2019 Arctic Report Card draws attention to the Bering Sea region and Indigenous peoples who live there, where the marine ecosystem and the communities that depend upon it continue to experience unprecedented changes as a result of climate change. – Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North (RAIPON):<\/a> <\/strong>RAIPON’s goal is to “protect Indigenous peoples\u2019 human rights, defend their legal interests, assist in solving environmental, social, economic, cultural and educational issues and to promote their right to self-governance.”<\/p>\n

– The Arctic Ice Project<\/strong> <\/a>is developing localized techniques to better the Arctic\u2019s natural ability to reflect solar radiation and slow the rate of global warming while supporting the growth of Arctic ice while we still have ice left to save.<\/p>\n

– The Alaska Ocean Observing System <\/a><\/strong>works with organizations to provide coastal data and information to the public through collaborative networks. Pretty neat!<\/p>\n

United States Geological Survey (USGS)<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>provides science on natural disasters and situations that are threatening lives and\/or livelihoods. USGS provides data relevant to areas all around the world.<\/p>\n

–<\/span>The Iceland School of Energy<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>at Reykjavik University researches and develops renewable resource planning, ranging from hydropower to geothermal, in Iceland.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

– The Arctic Council<\/a> <\/strong>is an intergovernmental forum that seeks to address issues in the Arctic. It is one of the most important forums for the Arctic and is worth checking out.
\n\"\"<\/a>The Denali Commission<\/strong><\/a> is a federal agency tasked\u00a0to provide critical utilities, infrastructure, and economic support throughout Alaska. Especially communities that have been categorized as “imminently threatened”.<\/span><\/p>\n
