Alaide Ventura Medina es una escritora y antropóloga nacida en Xalapa, Veracruz en 1985. Su obra Como caracol… (Ediciones SM, 2019) ganó el Premio Gran Angular (2019) y su siguiente obra, Entre los rotos (Literatura Random House, 2019), ganó el Premio Mauricio Achar Random House (2019). Ha sido traducida al italiano, griego, árabe y varios idiomas más.
