Las escritoras cubanas reciben cierta visibilidad en el ámbito literario internacional, con un número razonable de publicaciones y traducciones. Las autoras más destacadas en el Siglo XXI son: Grethel Delgado, Dainerys Machado Vento, Karla Suarez, Kristen Millares Young, Legna Rodríguez Iglesias, Teresa Cárdenas, Ena Lucia Portela y Wendy Guerra. La autora Karla Suarez ha recibido el mayor número de traducciones por su obra Silencios, (Letras Cubanas, Cuba, 2008), que se ha traducido al inglés, alemán, italiano, francés, portugués y esloveno. Varias de las escritoras cubanas han recibido premios internacionales importantes, como: Karla Suarez, que recibió el Premio PEN Translates en el 2016; y Legna Rodríguez Iglesias, que recibió el Premio Casa de las Américas en el 2019 y el Premio Franz Kafka de Ensayo/Testimonio en el 2024, entre otros. Las obras cubanas y sus autoras han sido reconocidas por su calidad tanto dentro como fuera de Cuba.
