It\u2019s based on the story of three sisters, Ana, Lucrecia, and Loreta, who recount their lives, and the abuses from different men, including their father. The reader is submerged in these experiences in each chapter from the point of view of each sister, giving more clarity to the relationships between the sisters and the men in their lives. Loreta has money, which puts her above the financial worries of Lucrecia and Ana. Lucrecia has hope for her future, which motivates her to continue on, despite the trauma she has survived. We look for something to support Ana, but we begin the novel with her suicide, and we already know the answer: there is no hope for Ana. While the reader follows the sisters\u2019 lives, we hope to find an alternative ending, a solidarity that might heal the sisters, and save Ana from her suicide.
