Nadia Celis es profesora en las areas de Lenguas y Literaturas Romances y Estudios Latinoamericanos, del Caribe y Latinx en Bowdoin College. Sus principales intereses de investigaci\u00f3n son la literatura y la cultura caribe\u00f1as, con un \u00e9nfasis en cuestiones de g\u00e9nero y sexualidad. Es autora de los libros Cr\u00f3nica de Un Amor Terrible. La secreta historia de la novia devuelta en la muerte anunciada de Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez<\/em> (Bogot\u00e1, Lumen\/Penguin, 2023), ampliamente cubierto por medios como El Espectador, Repeating Islands, Noticias Caracol, El Heraldo y El Tiempo. Su libro anterior, La rebeli\u00f3n de las ni\u00f1as: El Caribe y la \u201cconciencia corporal\u201d<\/em> (Madrid\/Frankfurt, Iberoamericana Vervuert, 2015), tambi\u00e9n fue ganador de un Premio Nicol\u00e1s Guill\u00e9n por la Caribbean Philosophical Association, una Menci\u00f3n Honor\u00edfica del Premio Iberoamericano por LASA, y el Premio Montserrat Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez por la secci\u00f3n de Colombia de LASA. Celis tambi\u00e9n es coeditora de Mayra Santos-Febres y el Caribe contempor\u00e1neo<\/em> (San Juan: Isla Negra, 2011).<\/p>\n

Actualmente, Celis est\u00e1 trabajando en una serie de p\u00f3dcast narrativos sobre el amor y la violencia en la educaci\u00f3n literaria y sentimental de las mujeres en Am\u00e9rica Latina y las comunidades Latinx, as\u00ed como en otro proyecto de libro sobre el Premio Nobel colombiano Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez, para el cual recibi\u00f3 una beca del Harry Ransom Center (UT Austin). Otras de sus publicaciones recientes incluyen \u201cFrom ‘the Clay of Your Skin’: Lessons from the Recent Work of Mayra Santos-Febres\u201d (Latin American Literature Today, 2022), “La ‘Ni\u00f1a-ni\u00f1a’: expresividad y legibilidad de la violencia machista en Los divinos de Laura Restrepo” (Revista de Estudios Colombianos, 2022), \u201cEntre el ‘crimen atroz’ y el ‘amor terrible’: Amor, poder y violencia en Cr\u00f3nica de una muerte anunciada de Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez\u201d (REGS Revista de estudios de g\u00e9nero y sexualidades, 2018), Premio Victoria Urbano al mejor ensayo cr\u00edtico por la Asociaci\u00f3n de Estudios de G\u00e9nero y Sexualidades AEGS, y \u201cLa soledad de \u00darsula: Intimidad y violencia en Macondo, ayer y hoy\u201d (Universidad del Valle, 2017).<\/p>\n

Nadia Celis is a Professor jointly appointed in Romance Languages and Literatures and Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies. Her primary research interests are in Caribbean literature and culture, with an emphasis on issues of gender and sexuality.
