La memoria donde ard\u00eda<\/span><\/i> de Socorro Venegas es una novela que existe como compilaci\u00f3n de diecinueve cuentos cortos. Los cuentos incluyen Pertenencias, Los aposentos del aire, La isla negra, El aire de las mariposas, El fuego de la salvaci\u00f3n (para nombrar algunos). Estos cuentos cubren temas de soledad, maternidad, g\u00e9nero, religi\u00f3n, y much\u00edsimo m\u00e1s. Este libro es muy especial por la forma en que explora y fluye por estos temas. Hay conexiones entre los cuentos m\u00e1s obvios y al mismo tiempo hay conexiones ocultas y algunas que pueden depender de cada interpretaci\u00f3n. Por ejemplo el primer cuento que trata de una mujer reci\u00e9n viuda y su nueva soledad entre sus tantas “pertenencias”. Los cuentos est\u00e1n escritos con mucho pensamiento de Socorro y te causan a repensar las im\u00e1genes que propone. Con un cuento que explora la sexualidad de una mujer la autora crea un espacio para interpretaciones propias con lo que ha escrito sobre el deseo y el espacio que mujeres ocupan en la idea de deseo. Mientras muchos de los cuentos tratan de lo complicado que es el amor, tambi\u00e9n te hace pensar en incluir el amor propio. Tener amor y darle pertenencia a lo que sea algo diferente a nosotros. Trata de la perspectiva de ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as ante un mundo cruel y complicado. Cuenta de experiencias muy ocultas y ella llega a darles luz y reconocimiento. Realmente es una compilaci\u00f3n de cuentos muy finos e importantes. Es un reflejo de las ideas, experiencias, e historias de la vida de Socorro Venegas. “La memoria donde ard\u00eda” de Socorro Venegas is a novel that exists as a compilation of nineteen short stories. The stories include “Belongings,” “The Chambers of Air,” “The Black Island,” “The Air of Butterflies,” “The Fire of Salvation” (to name a few). These stories cover themes of loneliness, motherhood, gender, religion, and much more. This book is very special for the way it explores and flows through these themes. While there are more obvious connections between the stories, at the same time there are hidden connections, some of which may depend on each reader’s interpretation. For example, the first story deals with a newly widowed woman and her new loneliness among her many “belongings.” The stories are written with much thought from Socorro and cause you to rethink the ideals she proposes and writes about. With a story that explores a woman’s sexuality, the author creates a space for personal interpretations surrounding desire and women’s role in it. While many of the stories deal with how complicated love is, it also makes you think about including self-love. To have love and give belonging to something different from ourselves. It deals with the perspective of boys and girls in a cruel and complicated world. It tells of very underrepresented\u00a0 experiences and she manages to shed light on them and grant them recognition. It truly is a compilation of very fine and important stories. It is a reflection of Socorro Venegas’ ideas, experiences, and life stories.
