For many reasons, it&#8217;s very different from the image I had of Sicily before our grand tour. On a whole, Siracusa was definitely the most charming and romantic place we visited. I could talk for hours just about the almond-shaped piazza, but I&#8217;ll spare you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/italian-3008-spring-2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/114\/2016\/03\/img_0829.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[502]\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/italian-3008-spring-2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/114\/2016\/03\/img_0829.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a>&nbsp;<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s not the best photo, but I hope the almond is at least suggested.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Most spiritual moment in Siracusa goes to my cathartic sunset run along the sea on Ortigia (the historic island that the city stretches out over), during 90% of which I listened to &#8220;When We Were Young&#8221; by Adele. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/italian-3008-spring-2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/114\/2016\/03\/img_0844.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[502]\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/italian-3008-spring-2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/114\/2016\/03\/img_0844.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a>&nbsp;&#8211;AG&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I loved Siracusa.
