Title of Abstract: Betsy Sweet For U.S. Senate

Name of Mentor: Sarah Chingos

Mentor’s Organization or Department: McKeen Center, Bowdoin College

Caroline Hastings ’21Research Abstract: This summer I interned as a Policy Fellow for Betsy Sweet’s campaign for U.S. Senate. As a Policy Fellow, I drafted candidate policy papers, debate responses, and website content displaying policy priorities. I also connected with constituents and voters across Maine to listen to their needs and proposed policy solutions to the campaign. It gave me the opportunity to examine my passion for criminal justice reform and school discipline on a nation-wide, policy level and I hope to continue this work in the future.
