Prior to conducting research, we considered collecting screenshots of peoples\u2019 text messages so that we could analyze them for repeated patterns and habits. We realized that there wasn\u2019t much depth to the screenshots and we had concerns about the breach of privacy. We scratched the idea of collecting screenshots and switched to a podcast. We hope to produce a podcast that highlights the communicating habits of millennials. We thought a podcast would be the best approach to present our findings because it would preserve the richness of the conversation that we had with our interviewees. At the beginning of our project we had planned on creating one long podcast where Bowdoin students talked about privacy, community, and the presentation of self. After a meeting with Professor Greene, we decided that instead of one long podcast we would create a series of short podcasts. We preferred the idea of shorter podcasts because it would allow us to better organize the content of our interviews into themes.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have three themes that we cover (privacy, authenticity, Presentation of Self), with each podcast focusing on one theme. In each podcast, we provide an introduction that will give our listeners insight into what the podcast will cover. We have also included our analysis of the interviewee\u2019s responses. Since we are not writing an essay for the final project, we think our audio analysis (similar to a director\u2019s cut) will be enough to help listeners contextualize the interviewee\u2019s response.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
