{"id":61,"date":"2018-02-05T10:40:16","date_gmt":"2018-02-05T15:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/sociology-3010-spring-2022-sbyarswa\/?page_id=61"},"modified":"2022-03-11T21:32:32","modified_gmt":"2022-03-12T02:32:32","slug":"project-summary","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/sociology-3010-spring-2022-sbyarswa\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Summary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dani and I will be investigating the general question: <\/span><b>\u201cHow is wellness\/health a class-inflected thing?\u201d\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We aim to investigate this question at the local level within the Bowdoin community, especially looking at students who come from FGLI backgrounds who may have had to navigate a new paradigm of health once arriving here. We plan to conduct short, no more than 15-minute interviews with students from groups such as Questrbidge, THRIVE, or affinity groups. Another thing we may ask is for students to maintain a food journal\/short health diary that can provide further insight into how the ways in which Bowdoin defines health\/wellness by raced\/classed standards may not meet the realities of those outside these identifiers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Question to consider\/ask:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do you take care of yourself? What does taking care of yourself look like?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How have you confronted health differently when coming to Bowdoin?
