To study the issue of I will be collecting documents, newspaper articles, photos, and videos. To do so I am currently doing library research and preliminary archival work. I am also trawling the open web to find material which might help. This means visiting mining websites which contain information on the current and previous digs in America. However, this means I am currently dealing with a deficit of information as the Miembres valley is not well documented upon my first scouring of information.

I am also currently trying to identify if there are archives which might exist in a non-digital format to see if there might be some p-lace I can visit in the future. I am currently working with Beth Hoppe to see if we can unearth archives in the area.

I am thinking I might do a Podcast, but I am unsure at the moment.

Lopez’s Comments:

Carlos, okay so as I think of things, you are doing a deep nose dive into the archives. This sounds good, however, remember what I caution: Don’t get too lost in the archives. Keep in the back of your mind that at some point you will need to begin formulating a research question. I’d to see you doing this within the next few weeks.
