{"id":38,"date":"2019-02-20T07:09:29","date_gmt":"2019-02-20T12:09:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/sociology-3010-spring-2018\/?page_id=38"},"modified":"2019-05-09T01:25:14","modified_gmt":"2019-05-09T05:25:14","slug":"log-6","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/sociology-3010b-spring-2019-lmclaugh\/data-collection-logs\/log-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Log 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Reflection:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week I collected data from two more marketing software companies, Salesforce Pardot and Zaius.\u00a0 Again, they both portray how specific companies have been built to perfect and optimize the marketing process.\u00a0 Their websites are riddled with neoliberal language of efficiency, growth, and maximizing profits.\u00a0 In my search, I have found a variety of demo videos that specifically depict how the software works.\u00a0 These demos are very helpful for reflecting the neoliberal language and logic that comprises these marketing techniques.\u00a0 Therefore, I am potentially thinking of making a video analyzing these demos instead of a paper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annotated Bibliography:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>www.pardot.com<\/p>\n<p>Salesforce Pardot is the marketing software wing of arguably the biggest Customer Relations Management software in the world.\u00a0 The neoliberal language is evident in how their product allows companies to\u00a0&#8220;find and nurture leads, close more deals, and maximize return on investment.&#8221;\u00a0 They describe how their software &#8220;turns everyday marketers into revenue-generating superheros. Our easy-to-use marketing automation platform gives you the tools to create, deploy, and manage online marketing campaigns that drive real results.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>www.zaius.com<\/p>\n<p>Zaius is a marketing software platform specifically for e-commerce.\u00a0 Their website is filled with language about predictive analytics derived through customer surveillance methods.\u00a0 A description of one feature of their product reads,\u00a0&#8220;We all want to \u2018know\u2019 our customers. But when you combine a truly connected view with an individualized AI-engine, you take it to the next level.
