Read\u00a0Camera Lucida, by Roland Barthes.<\/p>\n<p>2. Try and find your equivalent of Barthes\u2019\u00a0<em>Winter Garden Photograph<\/em>. Locate family photograph collections you have access to either in printed form (boxes, albums, etc.) or in digital form (hard drives, online, etc.).\u00a0\u00a0If you have access to a physical family photograph collection, I recommend you search through those.\u00a0\u00a0If not, search digitally.\u00a0\u00a0Choose one family member to look for.\u00a0\u00a0Try to find a photograph that reveals the essence of that family member.\u00a0\u00a0Write three paragraphs about this process, and post the writing.\u00a0\u00a0Post at least one image with your writing.\u00a0\u00a0Whether or not you post your \u201cwinter garden photograph\u201d is up to you.<\/p>\n<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\"><strong>Part 2: PICTURES OF MOTHER<\/strong><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Photograph your mother.\u00a0\u00a0If your mother is not with you, make photographs that are about her.\u00a0You could photograph any subject as a stand-in for her.\u00a0\u00a0Shoot at least 50 jpegs, and upload a selection of 10 to the blog by Wednesday, April 15th.<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\">Part 3: CRITIQUE GROUP<\/h1>\n<p>If you attend the weekly Zoom critique meeting, then that fulfills your critique participation component.\u00a0 If you are unable to attend the critique meeting that week, post 100-150 word comments on FOUR other students&#8217; work who also did not attend the critique.\u00a0 I will email the class to let you know who those people are each week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Part 1: FINDING YOUR OWN WINTER GARDEN PHOTOGRAPH 1.
