{"id":66,"date":"2020-03-24T22:07:29","date_gmt":"2020-03-25T02:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/visual-arts-2101-spring-2020\/?page_id=66"},"modified":"2020-03-24T22:07:29","modified_gmt":"2020-03-25T02:07:29","slug":"final-proposal-format","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/courses.bowdoin.edu\/visual-arts-2101-spring-2020\/final-proposal-format\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Proposal Format"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>To start your six-week, self-designed final project,\u00a0 please email me a written proposal, in the body of the email (not an attachment), outlining your project (either a drawing or a series of drawings), <em>using the following subheads for each answer<\/em>, NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25th, by 4 PM.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Email subject line: &#8220;Self-Designed Proposal \/ Your Last Name&#8221;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong><em>Please write in complete sentences<\/em><\/strong> that restate the topic (\u201cThe media I plan to\u00a0use are\u2026\u201d), rather than just listing them in outline form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please put your name and the title of your project at the top of the email<\/strong>, and<strong><em>\u00a0include the following subheadings, <u>as they appear here<\/u>, <\/em><\/strong>to organize your proposal.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Thanks!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Subject <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Please indicate what your subject will be and what your drawing or\u00a0drawings will include, in as much detail as possible. If it helps, the typical categories are still-life, portraiture, figure drawing, interior,\u00a0landscape, abstraction (based on any of the above), and nonobjective drawing.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Theme<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Please indicate your project\u2019s theme, either from the list provided in the assignment, or one of your own.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Media <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Please indicate the materials or combination of materials you plan\u00a0to use, including the size of your drawing\/s, number of drawings, type of paper, etc. Typically, your choice of media will be a constant in order to focus and unify the project.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Method <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Please indicate what technique, approach, style, and\/or visual\u00a0characteristics of the piece\/s will be (e.g, naturalistic,\u00a0expressionistic, high resolution representation, etc.) you plan to use.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Inspiration<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Name <em>at least one artist<\/em> whose work will be an inspiration and guidepost for this project, and <strong>insert or attach an image or images of their work<\/strong> that you respond to the most.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Objectives <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Please give some idea of what you\u2019re after in this project, from\u00a0sharpening certain skills to exploring drawing materials, to expressing a feeling or an idea.
