Trapped in Technicolor by David Leen
In this series of digitally-painted studies, I was immediately drawn to the idea of natural light as a representation of autonomy during a time of mandated isolation. To obtain reference photos for each piece, I asked some friends to take one moment and capture a candid of themselves inside their own homes, with natural light shining on their skin. I wanted the crudeness of this series to mimic the fleeting nature of this period of time. Disturbing, yet at this very moment, yearning for something new.
