Peary-Macmillan Arctic Museum
Our next exhibit: Mamaqtuq! It is Delicious!: Traditional Foods of the North is scheduled to open April 2. This will be a fascinating exhibit on the changing ways Inuit have hunted and fed themselves in response to climate change, pollution, colonialism, and other factors. If you’re planning a visit before April, our permanent exhibition on the second floor, At Home in the North, is always open and offers a great starting point for learning about the Arctic and Inuit life. For class visits, we can also pull objects from our collections storage for your students to view. This is a great opportunity for students to interact with objects they would not normally get the chance to see!
If you are interested in scheduling a class visit, please reach out to Bella Nadeau, Curatorial Assistant.

The Zuckert Seminar Room will be available to host spring semester classes beginning Monday, February 2. Please use the online form to submit your class visit requests early, as spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis!
The second-floor galleries will remain closed for building improvements for the start of the spring 2026 semester. We anticipate that returning exhibitions Medieval Art from the Wyvern Collection: Global Networks and Creative Connections; Flora et Fauna: Nature in Ancient Mediterranean Art and Culture; Front Lines: Women Etchers at the Fore, 1880 to Today, and the Assyrian reliefs will be available to view in early February. Exact reopening dates will be shared on our website as the galleries involved come back online.
We are excited to share that the Bowdoin and Boyd Galleries, which are currently home to Re|Framing the Collection: New Considerations in European and American Art, 1475-1875 and Currents: Art Since 1875, will reopen in early March with newly envisioned exhibitions.
More information is available in the Spring 2026 newsletter emailed in December.
