For the ‘Combo Meal’ series, I explore the idea of how with virtual reality, Google Maps, and Google Earth, we as humans are less willing to go out and travel the world as we can access immersive travel images at our fingertips.

 

 

In this first part of ‘Combo Meal’, I present the mini-movie “I Can Just Look Up Pics of it Online”. The aim of this movie is to emphasize how virtual reality travel experiences are not on par with actually traveling to places. The inspiration for the title of this movie comes from when a couple of years ago, my mom asked me what I thought about a potential family vacation to New Zealand, and I responded that there was no need to go there as “I can just look up pics of it online”.
