Hi everyone!
For the third eARTh exhibition, we put out a call for art about the steps one could take in everyday life, big or small, to promote conservation, rehabilitation, and a more sustainable future. The responses are exciting and encouraging. We have 14 artists participating in the show who expressed themselves through visual art, poetry, and design. It has been so special to share the exhibition with our Bowdoin community, and we hope you all enjoy this website as a record of the art that our community members have created.
We believe art is an incredible outlet for individuals to process the changes occurring in our world, and a great way to raise awareness or share personal experiences within our community. It’s clear that Bowdoin students are engaging deeply with the climate crisis and are processing their thoughts through artistic outlets.
Best,
Charlotte Howie ’24, Conor Padmanabhan ’25 and Zachary Ennis ’23

Statement from the Department:
The eARTh exhibition is sponsored and produced in partnership with the Department of Earth and Oceanographic Science at Bowdoin College. Structured as a one-semester opportunity, staff member Bridget Spaeth mentors the team, providing a road map for a successful production experience. All of the content – the development of a theme, through a successful “call for art” and the response from artists – is student generated. Thanks Charlotte, Conor and Zach for being such excellent partners in this year’s project.
