Surviving in Numbers operates as both an online initiative as well as visits colleges to provide support for victims and information for activists.26

She seeks to offer a safe place for victims to feel supported and empowered. Help With Abuse provides a community for victims to share their stories and spread consciousness about sexual abuse and its consequences.27

Screen Shot 2014-12-20 at 5.26.00 PMRun by former administrators of From Abuse to Empowerment (FATE), Sisters With Courage seeks to provide support for victims of abuse. A community of survivors themselves, Sisters with Courage uses shared experiences to “inspire, encourage, and empower others.”28

She first became involved in sexual assault activism when she co-founded Happens Here, a publication that creates spaces for survivors of assault to share their stories, at Amherst College. She has also testified before congress regarding Title IX policy and she is well-published regarding sexual assault. She works to provide support for victims and make meaningful change by demanding policy changes regarding assault.29

She has spoked and written about sexual assault against women and reproductive justice for many notable publications and Television programs including the new york times and NPR. Through writing, organizing, and law she hopes to create campuses free of discrimination and with support programs in place for victims.30

The 97 Project is an initiative that seeks to start a conversation about sexual assault. Their goal is to discuss sexual assault, abuse and harassment. Through the hashtag #progject97, they provide a network for other activists, victims, and members of the community to share their thoughts regarding sexual assault.45

She is a leader in several coalitions to advance opportunities for women such as Girls in education and Paycheck Fairness Coalition. Through legislation and grassroots activacy she has recognized and fought for the voices of girls and women across the US.31

She claims Columbia mishandled her case and did not protect her rights under title IX. As a performace art piece and a form of activism, she vows to carry her mattress around campus until her assailant is expelled from the school.32
