A wide variety of grassroots organizations are involved in combatting the school-to-prison pipeline. From organizations that conduct after school programming to help kids stay off the streets, to organizations who are committed to a top-down approach to ending the pipeline–thus attacking the prison industrial complex itself.

Some of the involved grassroots organizations have combined with others to create national organizations, thus allowing them to better impact policy and laws. As is often the problem grassroots organizations face–these organizations do not always have the appropriate amount of resources to combat Washington DC backed policymakers and wealthy individuals who are invested in ensuring the continuity of the pipeline.

Nonetheless, everyday parents, students, teachers, and other come together to fight the school-to-prison pipeline.
