For my project, I plan to investigate Hawthorne-Longfellow to find some readings on the effects on mental health in our society, and how it has transformed in the recent years. I also plan to find scholarly articles online showing how mental health is getting worse and worse with each generation. I think that it would be very interesting to interview some people at Bowdoin and ask what they’re thoughts about the topic are and how they’ve been affected and how others around them may have been affected. As well as this, my younger brother is a sophomore in highschool and I have heard him talking in the past about the mental health of the kids around him. I can imagine it would be very interesting to hear what he would have to say as well as possibly some of his friends in highschool. I also have a younger cousin who is in middleschool. While he is young and may not be completely reliable, I would love to hear what he has to say about some things that may be happening at the middle school and how the younger generations are doing within our society.
