I finally found access to the literature that I needed to access thanks to Beth Hoppe. In addition, I finished transcribing Susan’s interview which had led to me analyzing her words and comparing them to the newspaper along with literature on the corporatization of higher education. Then, I set up two more interviews with students who were attending USM during 2014. These interviews ended up falling through because the students were not active on campus and therefore, did not have much to say on the topic. There was no data I could implement into my research paper.
I need to go back through our class books because I know Harvey will obviously apply but I think the readings on Walmart will too since USM was trying to secretly de-unionize. It has been harder than anticipated to find articles regarding neoliberalism in higher education but there are some that are definitely applicable.
