- Investigate women artists and artists of color working in or alongside Ashcan and Camden Town groups, ideally aiming to see how they do/do not take up similar themes and/or how their approach to those themes adds to the story.
- Did Camden Town artists represent immigrants to London, directly or indirectly?
- Were there historical points of contact between Ashcan and Camden Town artists and/or their work? (Did Henri and Sickert cross paths in Paris in the 1880s? Were works of art circulated through the art market in New York and London?)
- Continue to investigate the social contexts of the scenes represented, including researching what kinds of social groups were (and were not) present in particular spaces.
- Dive deeper into archives and writings of individual artists, Sloan papers, Sickert’s published writing, etc.
- Explore Sloan’s work in the 1920s and 1930s, including his time in the Southwest.
