Please join us on Friday 1/26 at 7:30pm in Kresge Auditorium for Passamaquoddy language keeper Dwayne Tomah’s talk, “The Doctrine of Discovery From an Indigenous Perspective.” This event is sponsored by the Schiller Coastal Studies Center, the Bowdoin Museum of Art, the Bowdoin Department of Anthropology, the Gibbons Center for Arctic Studies, and the Native American Student Association. This event is free to the public.

In addition to his public presentation, Dwayne would like to host a student workshop from 2:30 – 4:00 in Ladd House on his work preserving the Passamaquoddy language through the translation of the first recording of Passamaquoddy on wax cylinders. Contact Holly Parker for more information.
