Faculty Writing Accountability Groups

“Participating in the Accountability Groups was fundamental for achieving my goal of an accepted peer-reviewed article. Lisa and other faculty incentivized me to send my article even when I did not feel ready, gave me advice on how to edit my manuscript, deal with feedback, and remain accountable with my research time. This is certainly the most non-financial support for research that currently exists at Bowdoin. I greatly benefited from the advice and guidance of other faculty that have more publishing and writing experience than me. Lisa offers great advice on writing, time management, and provides accountability, and she also helps to build and foster community within the group.”

We invite you to join a group of faculty working on writing projects (book proposals, articles, chapters, presentations, etc) for a one-hour meeting every two weeks September-December facilitated by Lisa Flanagan to build community and accountability around writing projects Each meeting, group members will share what was accomplished since the last meeting and their goals for the next two weeks. (Note: this will not be writing time. Dependable attendance is a requirement for participation. See this article from Inside Higher Ed describing this model.). For more information, contact Lisa Flanagan at [email protected].
