Designed for faculty across disciplines, the session emphasizes reflective practice, peer consultation, and strategies to apply constructive, meaningful feedback in future courses.

Course Design Sprint, Wed, 1/7, 1-4pm

Opportunity for course instructors to start the design of a new course or rethink the design of an existing course. In 4 hours, participates write or analyze clear learning outcomes, align those outcomes with transparent assignments, and brainstormed possible course materials while considering the diverse needs of the learners in that class. Opportunity for faculty and instructors to start the design of a new course or rethink the design of a pre-existing course. In 6 hours, you will have written clear learning outcomes, aligned those outcomes with transparent assignments, and intentionally brainstormed possible course materials while considering the diverse needs of the learners in that class. The CDS is a learner-centered experience that allows each participant to spend time working on the elements of their courses that need the most attention while engaging in conversation with the facilitator, and fellow instructors/colleagues.

Refresher: Every Semester Needs a Plan, W, 1/14, 12-1:30pm

Attendees can sign up for this workshop if you have participated in the 2-hour “Every semester needs a plan”-workshop in the past. We will not be revisiting the theoretical framework of strategic planning, but we will dive into creating a strategic semester plan.
