David Andrysiak passed away in March of 2019 after complications from a hemorrhage in a tumor in his brain the summer before. We worked at Camp Becket together, a sleepaway camp in western Massachusetts that he had attended and worked at for six years. In 2019, I was in my tenth summer at the camp and met David when he was added to my village, working with the eleven year old age group. David and I became close pretty quickly, talking about baseball and camp primarily, but we developed a mentor-mentee relationship by the end of the summer. He asked for a lot of advice on mediating conflicts between campers, gaining confidence, and wanted to work on his ability to loosen up and goof around more. He came a

long way in his counseling ability that summer, and we developed a friendship in a very short amount of time.

Eight months after his death, scrolling through snapchat on Thanksgiving day, David reappeared, his location showing he was home. This short film explores my reactions to that incident.
