The following is the App Store page for a companion app to this video, Gestures. Gestures reduces apps to their essential gestures of taps and swipes. Each internal app displays simple instructions in the middle of the screen and flashes a color indicative of the app being “used” when that gesture is performed (yellow for Snapchat, pink for Tinder, and tan for Instagram). Many times when we pull out our phones in social situations, all that matters is the gestures, not necessarily what is on the screen. We do not process the information being displayed in front of us and simply tap, swipe, and click ourselves away from our surroundings. Gestures cuts out the unnecessary data on the screen and gives the user what they really want: an excuse not to look up.
