About the Project:

The idea behind this project came from thinking about tropes that are used in cinema. Many of them were invented before the 21st century and do not reflect the modern world. I began to wonder what they would look like using modern technology. I thought it would be interesting to add modern technology to classic film scenes or situations. In some of my videos, I tried to mimic the scene, while only adding the modern technology. In others, I thought modern technology would completely change the situation of the scene, so I tried to adjust to this fact.

For example, electronic cigarettes and vapes are the modern alternative to cigarettes and cigars, however the act of smoking them is widely unchanged. On the other extreme, the internet has provided career criminals with a much more profitable and less dangerous way to make money, so in the past robbery involved calculated heists and daring escapes, now it it involves one hacker in a room. In the pool scene, the people watch as the man shows that he is the superior player and their reactions are visible. However, when it is just over the phone, the crowd is no longer present so I choose not to show any human reactions. In the last scene of scarface, the violence is shown through the lenses of film. The viewer has no control on what is happening in the film. Now it is possible to recreate the experience or any other experience in video games where the consumer has control over the characters action.
