According to Fonner et. al., with the recent election to President Trump, organizations that aim to provide reproductive health to women are in jeopardy. Trump has promised to cut funding for reproductive health and has already done so. Many organizations that center women reproductive health have had their funds cut meaning that they have limited access to supplies as as well as limited room for employment. Jobs and programs have been cut and many organizations as at a stand still. This also means that sex education programs as well as sex health services have also been compromised. Yet, as Kirby et. al. have proved by their research, sex education and health services are crucial. These programs and services give women reproductive care and assistance. They have also proven to decrease adolescent pregnancy rate even if only by a small percentage. In addition, HIV/AIDs and STI/STD testing and care services have been shown to give people the care and attention needed. With the new administration, women’s health services and health services more generally have been jeopardized. Clinics have already shut down in droves forcing women to travel long distances to receive proper health care. With the new administration planning to overturn the Affordable Care Act as well as abortion rights, the current state of reproductive rights is in peril.
