The following media offers additional information for tutors on the teaching of adult literacy and on literacy in general.

This video, produced by The National Adult Literacy Agency in Ireland, offers practical tips on how tutors can best use their students’ existing skills and act in a way that empowers their students. For example, Dr. Vicky Duckworth reminds tutors that, when delivering lessons, they should avoid using language “in a way that distances the learners.” Instead, they must “demystify the language” and use language in a manner that’s clear, accessible and “empowers the leaners to join in to a dialogic conversation.”
