This American Life with Ira Glass
Inspiring me to create this website were two podcasts from 2013 by This American Life highlighting Harper High School in Chicago. In 2012, 29 current and recent students of Harper High were shot. The podcast episodes explore how students navigate their violent world and how teachers support their students. Some students’ personal stories are told – one about a teenage boy who accidentally shot and killed his brother. The emotional stories and testimonies of teachers and students are powerful and I recommend listening to the podcasts. Find the links below.
