Make Your Voice Heard

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is very interested in hearing your opinion on what should happen. Public comments are critical to FERC’s decision-making process. They can have specific to far-reaching impacts on individuals, communities, industries, and the environment. Through comments, the public provides information to FERC that adds important context, detail, or data that can result in better outcomes.

To submit comments to FERC start by submitting an eComment request. You will receive an email from ferc.gov with a link to the comment system. Important: You will need the Docket # for the Brunswick dam license in consideration. The docket is # p-2284.

Type or paste your comments directly into the form. Don’t be intimidated. Whatever you have to say will be taken into consideration as long as it includes the docket # (p-2284), has a clear statement of position, and the reason for your position. It does not have to be long but including those 3 points is essential.

The relicensing studies and deliberations are scheduled to go on till at least 2029 but in that time feedback is important in order to influence the many decisions that happen along the way. These are current items under discussion that you might address in your comments:
– Should dam removal be considered as an option for study
– Should in-channel, nature like, or bypass fishways be considered as options for study
  • For more detailed instructions on how to comment you can visit the FERC website.
