The violence in New Haven, Connecticut due to the lack of gun control and gang violence, causes many young men to lose their lives because of their need for a sense of community. Without the proper support and environment to grow up in, many people can be leaning towards gang life because they need a feeling of stability. Without environments that teach positive things, gang life seems enticing since it gives a sense of family as well as a potential avenue to make money. However this is a problem that affects a lot of urban communities across America, especially when these communities lack proper resources. In New Haven, because there’s a constant influx of new cliques being created, with today’s new generation, police must combat or put a stop on gang violence or the beginning of them so that the violence would stop in the city.
