Progress Notes: Week 13

This week Kyle and I made our first TikTok using the insight into the popular trends/expectations we gathered in previous weeks. For our first TikTok, we focused on explaining what sociology is in colloquial accessible terms while also maintaining a fun and engaging personality to attract viewers.

This is the script we used for our first video:

Hey friends!  I’m Katie,

I’m Kyle and we’re making this channel to help break down some sociology for you. We’re both a few weeks away from finishing sociology degrees, so let’s break down what we spent the last 4 years of our lives on. Hey Katie? What is sociology?

Basically, sociology is the study of society and of social behavior. And that means that basically everything falls in the realm of sociology. It includes answers to things as small as why do you stop at a red traffic light or as big as why do nations crumble? Sociologists study everything from families, to states, from petty crime to systems of education.

But at the end of the day, sociologists are answering one basic question: Why humans be doing that?

Next steps would be to begin working on our presentation for class and making more content. We will probably also have to reevaluate our content once we make a number of videos and decide which ones we want to present to ensure the best quality collection of TikToks.
